Job summary

Sylvania is looking for a High School Family and Consumer Sciences Electives Teacher to create an engaging classroom environment and maintain a rigorous, learning-focused curriculum. As a High School Family and Consumer Sciences Electives Teacher:

This position requires:

a valid Michigan (secondary) teaching certificate. We will work with individuals that do not possess a Michigan Teaching Certificate but have a Bachelor’s Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences or a related field for certification.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Michigan secondary teaching certificate: KH certification required. Multiple certifications/endorsements preferred, but not required.
• Possession of a CTE certification or ability and willingness to attain preferred.
• Strong belief that all students can and will be successful.
• Strong knowledge of curriculum content in family and consumer sciences.
• Able to plan effective, engaging lessons and use data to plan and adjust instruction.
• Ability to interact positively and motivate students.
• Able to work with colleagues to improve student outcomes.
• Willingness to accept responsibility for student learning.
• Willingness to teach a lesson to students as part of the interview process.
