Job summary

Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) seeks a Family and Community Engagement Contact (FACE) to promote access and equity for all students and families. You will work with school teams, families, and community resources to build home–school partnerships and support academics, social-emotional learning, and external services.

The role involves engaging with Title I staff, participating in engagement events, and facilitating communication across stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High School Diploma or Bachelor’s degree or at least five years of related experience.
• Preferred: experience in a K-12 educational setting and working with diverse populations.
• Familiarity with HCPSS Strategic Plan and family engagement concepts.

Responsibilities

• Possess awareness of the district's strategic plan and Title I family engagement policies.
• Act as a member of school-based Title I/Family Engagement/Student Support teams.
• Collaborate with liaisons and staff to support families and student needs.
• Build relationships with stakeholders to create an inclusive environment.
• Work with families to remove barriers to student potential.
• Recruit Title I family members for school committees.
• Gather input to drive family engagement initiatives.
• Plan and participate in family engagement events.
• Communicate with Title I staff and community members about programs and services.
• Develop knowledge of community partnerships and resources for families.
• Provide access to resources supporting academics and mental health.
• Engage in professional growth to strengthen family engagement.

Education

High School Diploma

Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
