This position is primarily responsible for developing, monitoring, and implementing family-child health grants and programs within the Health Improvement and Benefits Design division. The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and agency requirements for assigned grants, including proper controls to combat fraud, waste, and abuse. The incumbent will serve as a partner and advisor to staff in designing and administering two statewide programs impacting the health of pregnant and postpartum members, infants, children, and teens.
Responsibilities include:
Co-lead the Integrated Care for High-Risk Pregnancies Program (ICHRP) initiative. Develop and implement innovative initiatives and policies to improve health outcomes for birthing people and infants.
Support statewide grant program activities related to infant, child, and teen health, including supporting the operations of the Child & Teen Checkup (C&TC) program.
Lead the Health Services Advisory Committee (HSAC). Research clinical and health services literature and guide expanded research of the literature to inform HSAC recommendations on DHS policies and programs.
Expertise in the health care delivery systems or health policy with a focus on implementation of policies, programs and measures that will create change in provider behavior, patient experience, or health outcomes.
Knowledge of industry standards for health care such as research, protocols, guidelines, quality assurance, etc.
Experience with leading and coordinating complex projects where the input and collaboration of multiple sectors of the health care industry is required.
Knowledge of federal, tribal, state and county government, laws, rules, regulations and guidelines regarding Medical Assistance and Minnesota Care programs.
Knowledge of research methodology, particularly clinical, health services and epidemiological research, including data collection and program planning and evaluation
Excellent written and oral communication skills sufficient to create necessary documentation of policy while also articulating rationale for complex changes.
Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
