Job summary

Little River Medical Center is seeking a certified Parent Educator to implement the Parents As Teachers model, focusing on parent-child interaction, development-centered parenting, and family well‑being. You will use the PAT Foundational Curriculum in culturally sensitive ways, partner with families, facilitate, and reflect with them.

Qualifications

• Ability to work on an interdisciplinary team and respect boundaries.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; bilingual a plus.
• Basic computer skills including email and word processing.
• Confidentiality and handling health information appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Engage in recruitment activities.
• Complete initial and annual family-centered assessments with each family.
• Develop, monitor, and review goals with each family.
• Plan and document visits focused on parent-child interaction and family well‑being.
• Use foundational curriculum to share research-based information with families.
• Screen for child development progress.
• Provide group connections to build social networks and support child development.
• Complete developmental screenings and health reviews for each child.
• Connect families to resources to reach their goals.
• Assist families in transitions to preschool or kindergarten.
• Maintain timely program documentation and inventory supplies.
• Attend reflective supervision and staff meetings monthly.

Education

Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field
