Job summary

Wisconsin Counties Association is seeking a full-time Child Protective Services – Initial Assessment professional to work with families and communities in Monroe County. The role focuses on comprehensive family assessments and developing safety plans, with a collaborative team approach and potential court involvement.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in social work or related field and a Wisconsin driver’s license, with credentialing considered for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Successful candidates will have bachelor’s degree with a major in social work or related field.
• A valid Wisconsin driver’s license is required.
• Credentialing by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services as a certified Social Worker, or candidates eligible for credentialing through another human services related field with a clearly identified path to social work certification may be considered.

Responsibilities

• In Monroe County, Initial Assessment completes comprehensive assessments with the family to determine their strengths and needs, to develop a family plan to mitigate and resolve concerns regarding child’s safety within the home.
• Workers are flexible, supportive and committed to working with the family to determine best solutions.
• Social workers within the Children and Family Services Unit work as a team to meet the long-term needs of the family, including family network teams, service coordination and at times court intervention.
