Job summary

Community Action Program for Central Arkansas, Inc. seeks a Center Manager/Family Advocate to help implement Head Start Standards. You will coordinate enrollment, advocate for families, and work with health and social services teams to support children’s well-being.

Start date ASAP with a budgeted 10-month-year schedule. Compensation ranges from $15.85 to $19.34 per hour depending on experience and education, with a typical schedule 7:30-4:00 during weekdays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (some college preferred).
• Must obtain credential in social work or related field within 18 months of hire.
• Six months experience working with families with lower socio-economic incomes.
• Must pass TB screening and initial health exam; valid driver’s license and transportation for Agency travel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment and Attendance at the center level.
• Advocate for parents; help obtain needed services and complete forms.
• Maintain open communication between parents and staff; assist in self-sufficiency efforts.
• Assist families to connect with services and schedule appointments.
• Collaborate with Health, Nutrition and Behavior teams to complete screenings and exams on time.
• Enter data into MYHS and maintain accurate records with confidentiality.
• Support home visits and document family contacts in MYHS.
• Assist in obtaining In-Kind and mobilizing community resources.
• Attend staffings, team meetings and parent meetings as requested.
