Job summary

East Missouri Action Agency seeks a Family Advocate to support Head Start families. The role focuses on helping parents access benefits, strengthen parenting skills, and coordinate health services for children.

The position requires driving, background checks, and a commitment to maintaining health and safety standards. Starting pay is $16.40–$16.81 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package and full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Applicant must be 18 or older and possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Three years of experience with adults and young children, or a related two-year degree.
• Background check is required; valid driver’s license and transportation required.
• Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and work in moderate noise; ability to drive in poor weather.

Responsibilities

• Help parents provide Head Start benefits and improve parenting skills.
• Identify family resources and assist families in obtaining services.
• Coordinate and implement health and mental health services for enrolled children.
