Job summary

Midcoast Maine Community Action in Brunswick, ME seeks a Family Advocate to partner with Head Start and Early Head Start families to set goals, overcome barriers, and connect with resources that support long-term stability and success. What We\'re Looking For
  • Associate degree in social services or a related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Family Services Certification through NHSA preferred or ability to obtain as required.
  • At least 3 years of experience supporting families, coordinating services, or working in a related human services role.
  • Strong communication, organization, and case management skills.
  • Knowledge of community resources, family systems, and child-related regulations.
Requirements
  • Prior to starting employment, and periodically thereafter, must be able to pass fingerprinted criminal background, child protective services, sex offender registry, and motor vehicle record checks, as required by state and federal childcare licensing regulations, indicating no disqualifying offenses that would prohibit work with children.
  • Persons employed must provide a physician\'s health statement, immunization records, and current TB and TDAP test results.
  • Must have a valid driver\'s license and reliable transportation to travel between agency locations or to client homes, or if transporting clients.

Compensation

$19.96–$22.95 per hour, based on your experience and educational background
