Job summary

City of Kankakee is seeking Laborer/Helper - Leaf Crew for the fall and winter seasons. This temporary 9–10 week assignment involves extensive raking, shoveling snow, and other physical tasks under the supervision of the Operations Manager. The city conducts pre-employment checks and maintains a drug-free workplace.

Applicants must be at least 17 years old; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform physical tasks (raking, shoveling, lifting).

Responsibilities

Dept/CC: Public Works (DPW) Hourly Rate: $20.00

Position Purpose:

The Environmental Services Utility - Department of Public Works division, is seeking help for the fall and winter seasons. This is a 9 to 10-week temporary assignment. This assignment may be extended based on departmental needs. This position involves extensive raking, shoveling snow, lifting and other physical tasks as assigned.

The City of Kankakee is a drug free work place. Prospective employees are required to undergo a pre-employment physical including the successful completion of a drug screen, and criminal background check.
