Job summary

J. Banicki Construction, Inc. invites motivated Engineering majors to apply for the Fall 2026 Project Engineer Intern role in Flagstaff, AZ. Under PM supervision, you will assist with planning, budgeting, and site coordination on heavy civil projects.

The internship offers hands-on experience, exposure to field and office tasks, and a $25.00/hour rate for up to 30 hours per week, with equipment and smartphone provided.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in civil/construct ion/ mechanical engineering or related field.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and willing to learn software.
• Available to work at least 2–3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Work with Project Manager and Superintendent to manage phases of heavy civil/heavy highway projects.
• Ensure compliance with plans, safety, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
• Review budget forecasts and communicate to Superintendents.
• Develop work and safety plans for heavy civil operations.
• Oversee field operations on the project site.
• Submit and track transmittals, submittals, and correspondence.
• Forecast project costs and revenue monthly with PM and client.
• Assist in developing monthly payment applications with the client.
