Job summary

Textron Fall Co-Op is an engineering internship focused on the design of avionics and electrical systems installations for Single Engine and Citation Jet aircraft. You will create installation drawings and support electrical system integration under guidance from experienced engineers.

Strong candidates are pursuing a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace with at least 60 credits, have CATIA V5 knowledge, and demonstrate solid communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing BS in Mechanical or Aerospace with 60+ credits.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and analytic reasoning.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare engineering drawings for avionics and electrical system installation using CATIA or HarnesSys.
  • Design installation of cockpit displays, remote line replacement units, antennas, sensors, wire bundles and secondary support structures.
  • Perform analyses applying engineering principles and create related documentation.
  • Assist in preparing trade studies, test procedures, certification reports, and other engineering documents.

Fall Co-Op - AES Mechanical Installations Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

Design of Avionics and Electrical Systems equipment installation on Single Engine and Citation Jet aircraft.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare engineering drawings for avionics and electrical system equipment installation using computer based drafting tools (CATIA and/or IAI HarnesSys)
  • Design installation of cockpit displays and controls, remote line replacement units, antennas, sensors, wire bundles and secondary support structure.
  • Perform analyses requiring frequent application of engineering principles.
  • Assist in preparing engineering trade studies, functional test procedures, certification reports, and other engineering documents.
Qualifications
EDUCATION

Prefer completion of 60 hours while currently enrolled in Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or Aerospace).

Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.

Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.

Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
