Job summary

yondu is seeking a dedicated intern to design and integrate electrical and mechanical systems for humanoid robots. You will work on real deployments, rapidly prototyping while iterating to meet evolving requirements, and collaborating with software and simulation teams to support end-to-end projects.

Applicants should be pursuing a degree or have recently graduated in CS, robotics, or EE, with hands-on experience, a solid portfolio, and familiarity with ROS 2 and CAD tools like Fusion360 and

Job description

Note: We will provide a housing stipend but not relocation assistance.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree or recent grad in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Has a citizenship/does not require any immigration or visa assistance.
• Can commit to a full time internship role.

What You'll Do

• Design and integrate electrical and mechanical systems.

• Rapidly prototype, and iterate based on changing demands.
• Collaborate with software and simulation teams to meet their needs.

What We're Looking For

• Experience with electromechanical systems or robotics.
• Excellent mechanical intuition, you understand how things move, fail, and improve.
• Experience with hand tools and disassembly, assembly, and documentation of systems.
• Experience with Linux based operating systems (ROS 2 especially).
• Experience with computer assembly and bandwidth architecture (USB and PCIE standards).
• Skills in CAD and embedded systems.
• Strong hands-on engineering and troubleshooting ability for both electrical and mechanical systems.
• A portfolio and/or an independent project or 2 would be ideal to display real skills and end to end management of a project.
• Experience with CAD software specifically Fusion360, KiCAD, and the .urdf format.
• Experience with typical humanoid systems (BLDC actuators, CANbus, lithium based batteries).
• Understanding of industrial requirements (IP Rating, MTBF).
• An understanding of what makes systems reliable and the ability to design for it.
