The PTCU collaborates with cardiac-thoracic, hepatobiliary, and head and neck surgical teams, as well as managing high-risk respiratory patients such as CHF, COPD, PNA, and Pulmonary Hypertension. If you aim to develop a broad range of nursing skills, we are the place for you!

The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients, following physician orders and established guidelines, within the scope of practice defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act. According to the American Nurses Association (ANA), nursing encompasses the protection, promotion, and optimization of health, prevention of illness and injury, facilitation of healing, alleviation of suffering, and advocacy for individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations. The scope of practice varies depending on the nurse's education, experience, role, and population served, guided by the ANA standards.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Certifications Required

  1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as an RN in Georgia, in good standing without limitations.
  2. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  2. Additional Life Support certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) or other clinical specialty certifications relevant to specific units.
  3. Visual color acuity, depending on the role and specific unit requirements.
