Join the Fall 2025 ICU RN Residency Program at Northside Hospital

Northside Hospital, an award-winning and state-of-the-art facility, is seeking qualified candidates for its Fall 2025 ICU RN Residency Program. Join a growing team dedicated to expanding quality care to patients and communities in Atlanta and beyond.

The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders, established guidelines, and the Georgia Nurse Practice Act. Nursing at Northside aligns with the ANA's Scope and Standards of Practice, emphasizing assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation, communication, leadership, professional development, and evidence-based practice.

Program Details

The Staff RN Resident I position is part of the NSH Nursing Excellence Track (NEXT) Program. It is designed for nurses with less than one year of experience, who are recent graduates of accredited nursing schools, and hold a valid Georgia RN license. Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) is required, with additional certifications like ACLS, NRP, or PALS preferred depending on the clinical unit.

Unit-Specific Requirements
  • Bone Marrow Transplant: ACLS within one year
  • Critical Care: ACLS within one year
  • Emergency Department: ACLS maintained
  • Gastro-Intestinal Lab: ACLS maintained for moderate sedation
  • Neurosciences: ACLS for Neurovascular patients; Critical Care and Arrhythmia courses preferred
  • Special Care Nurseries: NRP certification required
  • Surgical Services (Operating Room & PACU): Prior OR or PACU experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSN degree preferred
