Job summary

Anderson University is inviting applications for a full-time, nine-month faculty position as Assistant/Associate Professor of Interior Design, starting Fall 2027. The role requires teaching studio and lecture courses on-site, integrating faith and learning, and contributing to program curricula and student advising.

Preferred candidates hold NCIDQ certification and a terminal degree (MFA/PhD or related, e.g., MArch), with university teaching or professional practice experience.

Qualifications

• Student centered approach and collaborative spirit are essential.
• NCIDQ certification and terminal degree are preferred.
• Teaching experience at university level is a plus.
• Active professional membership (IDEC, ASID, IIDA, AIA) is beneficial.
• LEED-AP or Well-AP certifications and CIDA/NASAD familiarity are valued.
• Engagement in scholarship, publications or exhibitions is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Teach lower and upper-level studio and lecture courses.
• Use Autodesk AutoCAD Architecture, REVIT, SketchUp Pro and Adobe Suite effectively.
• Contribute to curriculum development for the design programs.
• Advise students, recruit, and support retention efforts.
• Participate in School and University committees and service.
• Support student chapters and professional organizations; contribute to scholarly works.
