Job summary

The Diocese of St. Augustine seeks a qualified teacher to support Catholic education in a Florida Catholic school.

Under the direction of the principal, you will integrate religious curriculum and promote Gospel values, while delivering standard academic instruction. You will collaborate with staff to build faith communities, maintain student safety, manage classroom routines, and participate in professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Valid Florida teaching certification is preferred or eligible for certification.
• Within two years, obtain Basic Diocesan Ministry Certification.
• Practicing Catholic in good standing is preferred and aligns with mission.
• Must have or obtain a valid driver’s license and pass background checks.
• Complete Protecting God’s Children workshop prior to employment.
• Be flexible with hours including evenings and weekends for school events.
• Proficient in school-related software and technology use.

Responsibilities

• Support Catholic mission by teaching in line with Church teachings.
• Collaborate with principal to build faith community and values.
• Prepare lesson plans to meet academic goals and objectives.
• Integrate Catholic religious curriculum and plan service activities.
• Establish classroom management and promote positive behavior.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and duties as assigned.
