Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in St. Joseph, MO is seeking a part-time Faith Formation Assistant to provide administrative and instructional support for parish programs serving children, youth, and adults. Reports to the Faith Formation Director; position is up to 10 hours per week.

The role involves class prep, registration, communication, youth group facilitation, and support for catechists and volunteers while maintaining records and coordinating events in a faith-centered environment.

Faith Formation Assistant

Part Time, Non-Exempt

Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in St. Joseph, MO has an immediate opening for a part-time Faith Formation Assistant. This position provides administrative and instructional support for parish faith formation programs and activities. It also assists with the coordination of parish faith formation programs for children, youth, and adults. This position reports to the Faith Formation Director and will be a part-time position up to 10 hours per week.

Essential Duties

• Assist with class preparation, registration, and communication
• Lead Middle School and High School Youth groups
• Serve as a school of faith teacher
• Oversee and guide youth mission trips
• Oversee and supervise youth students at youth conferences
• Supports catechists and volunteers in implementing programs
• Teach or assist in small group faith activities
• Maintains records and assists with events

Knowledge and Critical Skills Required

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Organized and detail oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Maintain confidentiality in all matters
• Professional judgment, discretion, and emotional intelligence in handling sensitive pastoral matters
• Ability to work with Microsoft Office products – primarily Outlook, Word, Excel

Qualifications / Education

• Some college or relevant training preferred
• Experience in parish ministry or youth programs helpful
• Knowledge of Catholic doctrine and pastoral practices
• Knowledge or familiarity of Catholic parish operations preferred
