Job summary

A Door of Hope Pregnancy Center in Wilmington, Delaware seeks a Director of Operations to provide trusted leadership for daily operations, focusing on client services, clinic flow, staff and volunteer leadership, and the overall client experience.

The role is 30–40% direct client interaction and 60–70% leadership, management, and center operations, requiring gospel-centered care and strong oversight. 32 hours weekly, exempt, in-person location.

Qualifications

  • Agreement with and commitment to A Door of Hope’s statement of faith, statement of principle, and code of Christian conduct.
  • A sincere, mature Christian faith and regular attendance at a Christian church.
  • A strong commitment to the sanctity of all human life from conception through natural death.
  • A sincere desire to reach and help women who are at risk for abortion or facing pregnancy-related decisions.
  • Ability to clearly and compassionately share the gospel.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree preferred, especially in a helping field; related experience may be considered in place of a degree.
  • At least two years of experience in personnel management, operational management, client services, ministry leadership, social services, or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal, spiritual, administrative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead staff and volunteers with clarity, warmth, accountability, and humility.
  • Dependable, stable, flexible, and capable of carrying significant responsibility with limited supervision.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word and entering data into CRM or database systems.
  • Pregnancy center, client advocacy, social work, counseling, nonprofit, ministry, or medical office experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the center, with a focus on client services, clinic flow, scheduling, documentation, building needs, and operational problem-solving.
  • Ensure the center runs professionally, safely, and in alignment with policies, procedures, mission, and standards of care.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Nurse Manager to maintain communication and implement client services and medical policies.
  • Provide leadership for day-to-day decisions on appointments, staffing, volunteer coverage, client follow-up, and center operations.
  • Oversee the client services portion of the budget within approved parameters.
  • Monitor building needs and resolve operational issues.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and participate in fundraising and community representation.
  • Carry a portion of the client load and model excellent client advocacy for staff and volunteers.
  • Ensure clients receive compassionate emotional, material, practical, and spiritual care.
  • Support client follow-up, referrals, documentation, and next steps for complex needs.
  • Work with staff to ensure accurate charting and CRM data entry.
  • Maintain current referral resources and educational materials.
  • Enter client data into the center’s CRM and train staff/volunteers.
  • Be available to minister to emotional and spiritual needs of clients, staff, volunteers.
  • Share the gospel when appropriate and reinforce the value of the unborn child.
  • Supervise and train client services staff and volunteers.
  • Provide direct oversight for the Hope Program Administrator, Client Services Coordinator, Administrative Assistant, Client Advocates, and volunteers.
  • Partner with the Executive Director to hire, train, schedule, support, and evaluate client services staff.
  • Provide regular coaching and accountability to staff and volunteers.
  • Review written client work for accurate charting and documentation.
  • Approve PTO and help manage scheduling for client services personnel.
  • Conduct or support annual reviews for assigned staff with the ED.
  • Assist in recruiting and training new Client Advocate volunteers.
  • Schedule and support volunteer in-service training and development.
  • Partner with the Nurse Manager to support day-to-day clinic operations, including appointments, scheduling, client flow, documentation, and communication.
  • Ensure medical policies and procedures are followed with the Nurse Manager and medical staff.
  • Support clinic operations while honoring Nurse Manager’s responsibility for nurses and clinical compliance.
  • Help ensure staff and volunteers understand how their roles support a professional, compassionate client experience.
  • Uphold and reinforce A Door of Hope’s faith statement, code of Christian conduct, and religious mission.
  • Lead prayer at the beginning of shifts and be available to lead staff devotions.
  • Foster spiritual growth and well-being of staff, volunteers, clients, and donors.
  • Disciple and encourage those under supervision in their ministry service.
  • Model a sincere, mature Christian faith in personal conduct and professional leadership.
