Job summary

Voces de la Frontera is seeking a faith-based outreach coordinator to support immigrant justice campaigns and direct services for families in Milwaukee.

The role involves coordinating with communities of faith, recruiting congregations, organizing volunteers, and reporting to the board; the ideal candidate has 1-2 years organizing experience, fluent English and Spanish, and willingness to travel throughout Wisconsin.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and Spanish required.
• 1-2 years of relationship-based organizing or leadership development.
• Experience in nonprofit/advocacy settings preferred.
• Knowledge of VAN is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and build relationships with communities of faith.
• Follow up with congregations pledged to be part of Voces/NSM and recruit new ones.
• Maintain a centralized directory of religious contacts across Wisconsin.
• Host meetings with church committees on Voces campaigns.
• Mobilize the faith community on Voces social justice issues.
• Recruit, organize and develop Voces members to liaise with congregations.
• Organize ongoing orientation for new liaisons and biannual liaison meetings.
• Serve as a link between families seeking assistance and Voces services.
• Identify volunteers to support accompanying immigrants to court or direct services.
• Support volunteers coordinating vigils in front of ICE and attend monthly faith community meetings.
• Provide monthly written reports to the Voces C3 board.
• Other duties as assigned.
