The Department of Mathematics and Physics at Houston Christian University is seeking adjunct faculty to teach courses such as Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Trigonometry, Math for Critical Thinking, Finite Mathematics, Precalculus, and possibly Calculus I. Both daytime and evening adjunct opportunities are available.

Candidates should hold a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Mathematics and demonstrate effective instructional pedagogy in a Christian academic environment,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Mathematics.
• Ability to teach most freshman level mathematics courses.
• Demonstrate expertise in current instructional pedagogy.

Responsibilities

• Uses a course syllabus following established departmental and institutional guidelines.
• Provides timely, quality access to students via electronic communication and other appropriate methods.
• Evaluates students by established means to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and to inform them in a timely manner of their progress.
• Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
• Submits paperwork and forms in a timely fashion.
• Must be available to students outside of the classroom.
• Perform other duties as needed.
