Job summary

Fairway is seeking a Dishwasher to support the café by maintaining a clean kitchen and ensuring a steady supply of clean dishes and equipment. You will set up dish stations, operate dish machines, and assist with food prep as needed, contributing to a high standard of cleanliness and efficiency.

The role requires the ability to read, write, and understand English, with physical tasks including standing, bending, lifting, and working in coolers and hot kitchen areas.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with all equipment used.
• Ability to learn and understand new programs and applications as job functionality evolves.
• Extensive standing and walking, bending, twisting and lifting.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to work in refrigerated coolers and high moisture content rooms.
• Must be able to work in high temperature kitchen areas.
• Ability to work with all ingredients without negative allergic consequences.
• Must tolerate dust and chemical fumes from cleaning agents.

Job description

Fairway - Dishwasher Salary Range $17.00 - $18.00/hr

One of the most critical positions in the Café, the dishwasher helps deliver an exceptional customer experience by ensuring the safe and seamless supply of necessary equipment to serve our guests.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes and sorts soiled dishes, and preps foods as needed. Keeps dish area free of clutter and organized.
• Sets up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks.
• Maintains clean / dry floors throughout the shift.
• Properly washes, stacks, and stores china, glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers.
• Changes water of machines and sinks every two hours, or more often as required by business levels, and properly uses chemical dilutions set by vendor.
• Assists in the timely storing of food deliveries.
• Maintains trash cans throughout shift and removes full trashcans and boxes at the end of each shift.
• Maintains the dry storage area and the organization of storage shelves.
• Follows the posted daily dish cleaning duties.
• Assists in food prep and any other duties set forth or requested by the chef as needed.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, food storage, and work areas.
• Completes cleaning according to daily and weekly schedules and dishwashing/pot washing as needed.
• Assists with orienting new employees to their work area.
• Implements suggestions within parameter of position and refers more complex concerns to supervisor.
• Instructs personnel in use of new equipment and cleaning methods and provides efficient and effective methods of maintaining work area.
• Participates in and/or contributes to programs, committees, or projects designed to improve quality of service and employee productivity.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities.
• Must have the ability to read, write, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language with sufficient proficiency.
• Must be able to perform all duties and responsibilities in an efficient and satisfactory manner that meets the minimum standards for productivity, accuracy, cleanliness, harmony and safety.
• Ability to meet the Standards of Readiness- Overall consistency and organized workflow, meeting customer’s needs by providing variety and freshness by scheduled opening & closing times.
• Ability to meet Operational Standards including Quality Assurance, guidelines for opening, closing, on hand inventories, ensuring safety for associates and customers with use of use of all equipment, temperature and cleaning standards.
