Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a hatchery associate in the United States. The role involves performing hatchery duties, lifting 40+ pounds, and standing for long shifts while adhering to safety policies.

Candidates must have 6 months of recent work history, be able to read labels and follow recipes, and communicate effectively. Shifts vary with production needs and holiday work may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months work history in the last 12 months documented in your application's work history and/or resume.
• Must perform other duties as tasked by administration.
• Must be safe and observe all Tyson's policies and procedures.
• Ability to perform various hatchery duties, including pulling and grading chicks, washing trays and equipment, moving buggies, cleaning work areas, placing chickens in houses, mixing vaccines, dispensing formaldehyde, operating Embrex machines, assisting with egg traying and egg setting, working varying shifts, hours, and days as needed.

• Communicate equipment and operational concerns to management and maintenance personnel.
• Work independently as required, including shifts where working alone may be necessary.

Pay is $17.20 per hour.

Schedule:

• Sun 6am-4pm
• Mon 3am-11am
• Tues 3am-11am
• Thurs 3am-11am
• Fri 3am-9am

Shift times and days will vary depending on production needs. Holiday work will be required sometimes.

Must be able to understand labels, read recipes, follow instructions, and communicate effectively.

MUST HAVE 6 MONTHS WORK HISTORY in the last 12 months documented within your application's work history and/or resume. Can be a combination of employers as long as it is within the past 12 months or your application will not be reviewed.

MUST PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS TASKED BY ADMINISTRATION.

Job Requirements

• Ability to perform various hatchery duties, including: Pulling and grading chicks, Conducting breakouts, Washing trays and equipment, Moving buggies, Cleaning work areas, Placing chickens in houses, Mixing vaccines, Dispensing formaldehyde, Operating Embrex machines, Assisting with egg traying and egg setting, Working varying shifts, hours, and days as needed.
• Ability to stand for the duration of the shift (typically 10 hours, including two unpaid 30-minute breaks).
• Ability to bend, twist, turn, reach, and move continuously to monitor and maintain production flow.
• Strong hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to perform frequent physical activities, including: Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Squatting, Climbing, Bending, Reaching, Rolling buggies.
• Ability to obtain and maintain: Lockout/Tagout Certification, Pallet Jack Certification, Moffett License.

Equipment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Required equipment and PPE may include: Gloves (provided if desired), Water-resistant, slip-resistant footwear, Electric hand jack.
• Required PPE: Hearing protection (ear plugs or ear muffs), Hair bonnet, Beard guard (if applicable).
• Respirator Requirements: A respirator must be worn when dispensing formaldehyde. Employees must be clean-shaven where the respirator seals against the face (no beard growth greater than 24 hours). Mustaches are permitted only if trimmed and cropped outside the corners of the mouth to ensure a proper respirator seal.
