Job summary

Fort Bend County is seeking a Maintenance Worker-FBC Fairgrounds to prepare facilities for events, clean inside and out, and operate tractors and forklifts. The role includes grounds maintenance, minor repairs, and supporting emergency management duties as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, at least 6 months of related experience, basic equipment operation skills, and strong interpersonal abilities to interact with the public and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 6 months of related work experience.
• Basic skills in operating lawn and building care equipment; neat, reliable and able to follow instructions.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact with the public and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare buildings and grounds for functions at the fairgrounds.
• Clean buildings, restrooms, kitchens, and outdoor areas.
• Operate tractor and forklift and mow grass/weed eat.
• Repair equipment as necessary and maintain records of repairs.
• Open and close buildings during weekend duty and assist with emergency management duties.
