Job summary

Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center in Central Oregon seeks an Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations, oversee fairgrounds, events, budgeting, and staff. The role may supervise regular, temporary, and seasonal staff and volunteers, acting on behalf of the Fair & Expo Director when delegated.

You will manage year-round rental and food & beverage programs, coordinate with vendors, ensure safety and compliance, develop operational plans, and foster positive relationships with community

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years of relevant supervisory experience.
• Experience in budgeting, personnel management, and vendor coordination.
• Knowledge of public sector operations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage year-round rental business; supervise sales staff; meet budget goals.
• Oversee year-round food & beverage program; supervise subcontractors; ensure financial controls.
• Assist in planning, directing, and coordinating annual business activities.
• Support development and implementation of operational plans, event timelines, staffing plans, and service standards.
• Coordinate fairgrounds facilities for public events, rentals, exhibitions, and agricultural activities.
• Develop continuity of operations, emergency response, safety and security plans.
