Trilyon, Inc. is seeking an experienced Validation Engineer 2 to support complex silicon, board and system-level validation and failure-analysis activities in Austin, TX.

This hands-on role focuses on hardware bring-up, failure reproduction, debugging, root-cause analysis and test development across server platforms. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in semiconductor validation, strong GPU/CPU architecture knowledge and proficiency in Python, C++, and automation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years in semiconductor test, hardware validation or failure analysis.
  • Strong GPU/CPU architecture and post-silicon validation knowledge.
  • Familiar with PCIe, memory, power and thermal subsystems.
  • Experience debugging firmware, drivers, OS and HW/SW interactions.
  • Firmware tuning, PVT characterization, voltage and frequency margining.
  • Programming/automation with Python, Shell, C++, C#.
  • Hands-on with test equipment (oscilloscopes, analyzers, meters).
  • GPU data-center platforms and air/liquid cooling a plus.
  • Experience with AI tools or agent-based automation a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute DOEs to validate silicon, board and system failures.
  • Bring up server platforms and test stations for NPI and production failure analysis.
  • Debug hardware, firmware, drivers, OS, power, thermal, PCIe and memory failures.
  • Analyze logs and telemetry to identify failure signatures.
  • Develop diagnostics, stress tests and functional tests.
  • Reproduce and root-cause complex failures with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop automation for failure-analysis workflows.
  • Configure Windows and Linux server test environments.
  • Document findings and runbooks; produce failure-analysis reports.
  • Optimize lab workflows to reduce turnaround and downtime.
  • Analyze data and develop dashboards and reports.
  • Support platform bring-up at contract manufacturers as needed.

Job description

Location: Austin, TX 78735

Work Arrangement: 5 Days Onsite

Contract: 12 Months, with possibility of extension

Pay Rate: $45-$58/hour on W2

We are seeking an experienced Validation Engineer 2 / Failure Analysis & Validation Engineer to support complex silicon, board and system-level validation and failure-analysis activities.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on hardware bring-up, failure reproduction, debugging, root-cause analysis, validation, test development and automation across server and data-center hardware platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute Design of Experiments (DOEs) to validate silicon-, board- and system-level failures.
  • Bring up server platforms and test stations supporting NPI and production failure analysis.
  • Debug hardware, firmware, drivers, operating systems, power, thermal, PCIe and memory failures.
  • Analyze logs, telemetry and test data to identify failure signatures and dependencies.
  • Develop and validate diagnostics, stress tests and functional tests.
  • Reproduce, isolate and root-cause complex failures in collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Develop automation for failure-analysis and validation workflows.
  • Configure and maintain Windows and Linux-based server test environments.
  • Document technical findings, processes and failure-analysis reports.
  • Optimize lab workflows and test capabilities to reduce turnaround time and system downtime.
  • Analyze large datasets and develop dashboards and technical reports.
  • Support platform bring-up and training activities at contract manufacturing sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 5+ years of experience in semiconductor test, hardware validation, failure analysis, debug or related engineering environments.
  • Strong understanding of GPU/CPU architecture, post-silicon validation, platform debug or test development.
  • Knowledge of PCIe, memory, power management and thermal-control subsystems.
  • Experience debugging firmware, drivers, operating systems and hardware/software interactions.
  • Experience with firmware tuning, PVT characterization, voltage, temperature and frequency margining.
  • Programming/automation experience with Python, Shell, C++, C# or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, regulated power supplies and thermal cameras.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, component datasheets, logs, telemetry and validation data.
  • Experience with GPU data-center platforms and air- or liquid-cooled infrastructure is a plus.
  • Experience using AI tools or agent-based automation for engineering workflows is a plus.
