Job summary

The Radiologic Sciences Department is seeking a full-time faculty member to teach in the Radiologic Sciences program, including lecture courses and clinical experiences, with responsibilities for accreditation support and student learning outcomes. This 12-month teaching-track position reports to the Program Director and the Dean of Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences.

  • Registered technologist (R.T.) licensed and in good standing with ARRT.

Job description

Faculty (Teaching or Tenure Track) - RadiologicalScience
Position Summary:

The Radiologic Sciences Department is seeking a full-time facultymember. This position is responsible for teaching in the RadiologicScience program, lecture courses and clinical experiences, andassisting with accreditation. The faculty member is responsible tothe Program Director and the Dean of Morosky College of HealthProfessions and Sciences for fulfilling both teaching andnon-teaching activities. This is a full-time 12-month teachingtrack position. The successful applicant is expected to implementcourse materials that support stated initiatives and useappropriate techniques to provide students with the knowledgeneeded to achieve the learning outcomes for each courseoffered.

The functions below are detailed in the faculty handbook in Volume IV of the Institutional Policy Manual.

  • 1. Teach 27 credit hours in the academic year or as otherwisespecified by the faculty member's appointment notice; studentcourse evaluations are to be completed in each course. Faculty areexpected to employ sound pedagogical practices and to usetechnology as appropriate, including the University's learningmanagement system. Faculty shall assist with course revisions andcurriculum development as needed.
  • 2. Achieve appropriatestudent-learning outcomes in all courses taught.
  • 3. Participate inservice to the University, the community and to their profession.Attend convocations, commencement exercises and communitymeetings.
  • 4. Participate in ongoing professional development.
  • 5. Assist, advise and mentor students enrolled in the University.
  • 6. Assist and contribute to the outcomes assessment required forprogram accreditation by the JRCERT.
  • 6. Fulfill the essential dutiesand responsibilities of a faculty member as described in Volume IVof the Gannon University Institutional Policy Manual which containsthe approved policies and procedures of the University concerningthe terms and conditions of faculty employment at theUniversity.
Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a JRCERT accredited Radiologic Sciences program Minimum of five (5) years' experience in radiologic sciencesprofession.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Must be a registered technologist(R.T.) that is licensed, and in good standing with the AmericanRegistry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or willing to continue pursuit of abachelor's degree recommended.
  • Experience teaching in an accredited Radiologic Scienceprogram.
  • Additional certifications in computed tomography (CT), magneticresonance imaging (MRI), or other areas of the radiologic sciencesis a plus.
