The Department of Radiation Oncology at Loyola University Chicago, Stritch School of Medicine (SSOM), invites applications for a full-time research medical physicist position with research and teaching responsibilities.

We seek an innovative research medical physicist to advance cancer-focused studies integrating foundational and clinical investigations. The role supports Loyola’s initiative to expand its cancer programs in partnership with Trinity Health, aiming for NCI designation. The Medical Physicist will complement clinical strengths at the Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center and basic research programs.

The Stritch School of Medicine offers a collaborative research environment with core facilities and graduate education programs. Responsibilities include maintaining an independent, externally-funded research program and leading a graduate program in medical physics under development. Candidates must have a PhD in medical physics, physics, or related sciences and a strong publication record. External support is desirable but not required.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience: Candidates must have a PhD in medical physics, physics, or related sciences, with a strong research publication record. External funding support is a plus but not mandatory.
