Job summary

The University of Illinois Chicago Department of Surgery seeks a full-time transplant surgeon (Assistant or Associate Professor) to provide the full breadth of transplant services.

The candidate will deliver patient care, participate in teaching, and engage in clinical research, with responsibilities spanning surgical procedures, education of trainees, and collaboration across the division.

Qualifications

  • MD degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Training in a surgical residency program.
  • Board certification in surgery or eligibility.
  • ASTS certification.
  • Illinois medical license, eligibility to obtain.
  • Expertise in robotic surgery as applied to transplantation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient care and treatment in transplant surgery.
  • Assist with teaching medical students, residents and fellows.
  • Participate in clinical research.

Salary

The budgeted salary range for the position is $250,000 to $550,000.Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.

Position Summary

The University of Illinois at Chicago Department of Surgery seeks a full-time surgeon ( Assistant Professor or Associate Professor the most, junior, or intermediate level ) to provide the full breadth of Transplant Surgery services.

The Faculty/Physician Surgeon will function as a Transplant Surgeon. This position will be responsible for providing patient care and clinical activities in the area of Transplant Surgery.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient care and treatment in the area of Transplant Surgery.
  • Assist with teaching medical students, residents and fellows.
  • Participate in clinical research.
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • M.D. Degree or a foreign equivalent
  • Training in a Surgical Residency Program
  • Board Certification in Surgery or eligibility for certification
  • ASTS Certified
  • Illinois medical license, eligibility to obtain this license
  • Expertise in robotic surgery as applied to the field of Transplantation
