Job summary

Grand Canyon University is hiring a full-time Nursing instructor to reinforce didactic content and teach within clinical and lab settings. The role requires teaching in OB/Women’s Health, collaborating with faculty, and evaluating student progress toward clinical objectives.

The ideal candidate holds an MSN, has 2+ years of OB/L&D nursing experience, and possesses strong communication skills to connect with students and preceptors while supporting accreditation standards and the university

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) is required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in OB/Women's Health/Labor and Delivery nursing within the last two years.
• An active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in FL or a compact state.
• Prior collegiate-level teaching is preferred.
• Evidence of professional involvement (e.g., memberships, presentations, research, publications).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with students and preceptors.
• Support of the university mission and doctrinal statements.

What You Will Do

• Reinforces didactic content and teaches in the context of the clinical and lab application of knowledge and skills related to pre licensure Nursing.
• Collaborates with content area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical and lab objectives.
• Participates in grading written and Clinical/Lab performance check-offs.
• Preserves lines of communication with program faculty and director including attendance in select faculty meetings.
• Remains current with new trends and development in the specific field of nursing practice
• Maintains compliance with requirements for program accreditation.
• Upholds the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession as well as the pillars of the University.
• Requires travel to student clinical sites to directly observe student performance

What You Will Have
