Job description

Seeking a full-time, board-certified Family Medicine physician for a faculty position in an innovative 12-12-12 combined MD/DO residency program. This program was developed for future family physicians interested in serving rural communities in Alaska and is the only program based entirely out of the state. It offers unique learning opportunities such as involvement in Summer and Winter Wilderness Medicine, Transcultural & Community Medicine, and participation in the Alaska Addiction Medicine Fellowship as well as the Alaska Psychology Internship Consortium.

As a part of the faculty, you will be in an advisory role to 36 residents while also taking part in clinical duties such as direct patient care, prenatal care supervision, inpatient care, and more. Join a great faculty team and work alongside motivated residents in the beautiful and welcoming city of Anchorage, located in the heart of Alaska's scenic grandeur.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Full-time Faculty position working directly with Family Medicine residents
  2. Mix of faculty responsibilities, outpatient clinical work as well as optional inpatient care
  3. Involvement with Summer and Winter Wilderness Medicine, Transcultural & Community Medicine, the Alaska Addiction Medicine Fellowship, and the Alaska Psychology Internship Consortium
  4. Participate in the 5-year HRSA Grant - Primary Care Training and Enhancement - Residency Training in Mental and Behavioral Health
  5. Contribute to the osteopathic recognition and curriculum development
Qualifications and Preferences:
  • Prior teaching/precepting experience preferred; recent graduates considered
  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and community teaching sites
  • Strong background or interest in academic Primary Care preferred
  • Full-spectrum Family Medicine preferred, but not required
  • Experience or interest in conducting and publishing research is a plus
  • D.O. candidates with an interest in OMT are encouraged to apply
