In the next 12-18 months, with the opening of the 180-bed state-of-the-art Jim Ayers Tower, the CVICU will ultimately expand to an aggregate 70-bed footprint comprised of medical and surgical cardiovascular intensive care beds managed by four collaborative teams: Heart Failure/Transplant Surgical CVICU, Heart Failure/Transplant Medical CVICU, Fast Track Surgical CVICU, and Comprehensive Medical CVICU to meet the needs of our patients and referring hospitals.

The primary focus of this position will be leading patient care on the Comprehensive Medical CVICU team staffed with Cardiology Fellows, Medicine Interns & Residents, and Critical Care Advanced Practice Providers. Additional clinical responsibilities will include a cardiology ambulatory clinic at various VUMC clinic sites, as well as non-ICU based inpatient Cardiology services.
