Job summary

Baylor College of Medicine in Houston is seeking qualified Certified Anesthesia Assistants to join the Department of Anesthesiology: Hospital Based Services. Under the direction of an attending anesthesiologist, you will assist with preoperative evaluation, intraoperative anesthesia, and postoperative care in ORs, catheterization labs, ICUs, and other hospital settings.

Qualifications

• Master of Science degree required.
• NCCAA certification required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS cards required.

Responsibilities

• Administers all forms of anesthesia including inhaled, intravenous, neuraxial, and regional for procedures.
• Assesses and evaluates patients prior to anesthesia to formulate the plan.
• Inserts and uses invasive and noninvasive monitors as indicated.
• Responds to emergencies to provide airway management.
• Documents anesthetic information and patient condition.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
