Job summary

East Stroudsburg University seeks a Faculty Assistant for FORL 120, Mythology CRN: 32278. The FA will support a large class, attend all sessions, verify rosters, manage attendance, and facilitate technology services and D2L uploads.

Two positions are available. Applicants must be enrolled at ESU and be hired or recommended by the course professor; FAs may not lecture or grade course assignments.

Job description

Faculty Assistant for FORL 120, Mythology CRN: 32278

Job Summary:

• Faculty Assistants (FA) provide in class and out of class support to faculty who are teaching classes with over 60 students enrolled.
• The FA attends all classes for which they are providing support and work with professors who outline position responsibilities, which may include: verifying class rosters, taking attendance, arranging for technology services, and assisting with maintaining and uploading course materials and information onto D2L.
• The FA may also assist with scanning, copying, collating, distributing course materials, and updating bulletin boards.
• The FA may not perform any function(s) as the instructor of record or as a teaching assistant, e.g., the LCAs is not to lecture or to grade any course assignments. An LCA is hired by the professor for the course.

Pay rate:

$9.00 per hour.

FA responsibilities include:

• Attends all classes for which they are providing support.
• Works with professors who will outline position responsibilities.
• Responsibilities may include: verifying class rosters, taking attendance, arranging for technology services, and assisting with maintaining and uploading course materials and information onto D2L.
• May also assist with scanning, copying, collating, distributing course materials, and updating bulletin boards.

Note: The FA may not perform any functions as the instructor of record or as a teaching assistant, e.g., the FAs is not to lecture or to grade any course assignments or tutor students who are enrolled in the course.

Required Qualifications:

1. Be enrolled at East Stroudsburg University
2. Be hired or recommended by the professor who teaches the course
