Job summary

Dallas College seeks non-credit adjunct faculty to deliver instruction in specified non-credit workforce courses. All positions are on-site with potential hybrid arrangements after six months based on responsibilities and policy.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide course syllabi with minimum college requirements for non-credit courses and related information.
  • Maintain accurate records for grades and attendance.
  • Provide student evaluations in accordance with guidelines and licensure bodies.
  • Meet deadlines for end-of-course documentation to the division office.
  • Complete required Dallas College professional development hours each academic year.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Work Location

  • Academic (Faculty) positions require an on-campus presence,even when teaching online courses, in accordance with statelaw.

Position Summary

Provides instruction for non-credit course(s) within the contentspecific area.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Other requirements include excellent oral and writtencommunication skills and the ability to work with students andstaff in a teaching environment.
  • Demonstrated skills successfully working with students andstaff through experiences such as formal training and past workexperiences.
  • Ability to provide quality customer service.

Minimum Knowledge and Experience
  • Non-Credit Adjunct faculty who are assigned to teach non-creditworkforce courses must have a minimum of an Associate degree withdirect work experience in the specific content area or havespecific certification/licensure related to the assigned course(s)with work experience in the specific content area.
  • Non-Credit Adjunct faculty who are assigned to teach anon-credit community based/non-workforce course(s) must have aminimum of an Associate degree or direct work experience in thespecific content area with a certification (if applicable) for thecontent area.
  • Official transcripts will be required at time ofinterview.
  • Bilingual preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsibilities include providing course syllabi (with the minimum college requirement for the non-credit courses,institutional holidays, grading policy, course information,attendance requirements, books and resource materials, and otherinstitutional or accreditation information, etc.).
  • Maintains accurate records for reporting grades andattendance.
  • Provides student evaluations in accordance with institutionalguidelines and accreditation/licensure body (if applicable).
  • Meets required deadlines for submitting required end of coursedocumentation to the division office.
  • Completed required Dallas College professional developmenttraining hours per academic year.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.
