Raytheon is seeking an experienced Factory Quality Engineer to join the Effectors Operations Quality team in Tucson, AZ. The role supports a fast-paced, multi-value stream factory, focusing on quality requirements, manufacturing objectives, continuous improvement, and matrixed environment results.

The position is onsite in Tucson, AZ on the 2nd shift with an 8% shift differential and a sign-on bonus for eligible candidates. We work a 9/80 schedule and offer competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with two years of relevant experience.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, or manufacturing processes (assembly, inspection, and/or test).
• Experience with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain ATF clearance prior to start date.
• Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance before start date.
• U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Verify product and process compliance with contractual, technical, industry, AS9100 QMS requirements and internal policies.
• Develop strong relationships with touch labor, factory leadership, program leadership, and DCMA.
• Regular data analysis; development and usage of actionable metrics.
• Generate and publish Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) metrics.
• Lead RCCA investigations with cross-functional teams; identify non-conformances and track corrective actions.

Raytheon is looking for an experienced Factory Quality Engineer to join the Effectors Operations Quality team in Tucson, AZ, supporting a face paced, multi value stream factory. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter capable of driving quality requirements, manufacturing objectives, continuous improvement, and achieving results in a matrixed environment. You will support a manufacturing effort that requires the ability to operate in a challenging and dynamic environment where successful quality execution is a key contributor to overall success. The position is onsite in Tucson, AZ and on the 2nd shift. An 8% shift differential is offered on top of base salary. Sign-on bonus available, provided final candidate meets eligibility requirements. We work a 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off).

What You Will Do

• Verify product and process compliance with respect to contractual, technical, industry, AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and internal policies
• Develop strong working relationships with the touch labor, factory leadership, program leadership, and DCMA
• Regular data analysis; development and usage of actional metrics.
• Generation and publication of Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) metrics.
• Facilitate and lead cross-functional team in failure analysis, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations, including identifying non-conformances, providing solutions, tracking issues to closure and leading Corrective Action Boards (CAB)
• Ensure identification, physical control, and disposition of non-conforming material and facilitate Material Review Board (MRB) when necessary
• Support work instruction development and maintenance activities by reviewing work instructions, test instructions, auditing processes, and assuring configuration management
• Development and maintenance of inspection instructions, ensuring inspection instructions meet the technical data package requirements and meet production needs
• Development and release of First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102
• Regularly interface with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and internal stakeholders to manage issues
• Conduct weekly meetings to help reduce cost of poor quality and facilitate timely red rack dispositions

Qualifications You Must Have

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with two years of relevant experience
• Relevant experience is work in Quality, Operations, Engineering or related technical discipline
• Experience with interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, and/or manufacturing process experience in one of the following areas (assembly, inspection, and/or test)
• Experience with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems
• The ability to obtain and maintain an ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) clearance prior to the start date.
• Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

We Prefer

• Competency and experience in a relevant technical discipline with understanding of engineering principles and design analysis techniques
• Experience in leading cross-functional teams in auditing process and product/process improvements in the factory or at suppliers
• Experience in Product/Process Failure Modes & Affects Analysis, Regression Analysis
• Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Requirements
• Experience with Bill of Materials (BOMs) and consumable materials control
• Experience with AS9145 - Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
• High computer proficiency, including skills working with Microsoft Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)
