Job summary

RTX is seeking an Enterprise Application Architect to lead factory orchestration systems across SAP ERP, MES/i4.0, and AI platforms. You will define end-to-end integration patterns, drive modernization roadmaps, and deliver trusted architectures for uptime and efficient manufacturing.

You will prototype platforms with innovation teams, mentor Agile developers, and collaborate with infrastructure and cloud teams to ensure secure, scalable solutions on AWS/Azure and on-prem environments.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' experience in manufacturing/industrial settings.
• Experience with enterprise application integration (ERP/MES/IIoT/data) and architecting AI capabilities into solutions.
• Experience with deploying and hosting applications on AWS and/or Microsoft Azure, integrating with private/on-prem environments.
• Full-stack software development in enterprise environments (Java/Spring Boot, Python/Flask) and modern UI frameworks (Angular/React).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Architect and coordinate applications for new factory orchestration systems across SAP ERP, MES/i40, AI and data platforms.
• Shape technical roadmaps to modernize factory applications for high availability and stable operations.
• Define and communicate solution architectures; produce architecture artifacts using TOGAF ADM.
• Prototype and pilot platforms; conduct proofs-of-concept to validate feasibility and value.
• Provide technical leadership to Agile teams and mentor developers toward solution-architect roles.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and cloud teams to ensure scalability, security, and observability.
