Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) in Nampa, Idaho, is expanding with a new device factory and seeks a Factory Manager to lead production teams building digital and ruggedized hardware for protecting, controlling, and automating electric power grids and industrial systems.

You will drive safety, quality, on-time delivery, and budget while modeling SEL values and World Class Manufacturing principles. Lead strategic direction and mentor teams in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related technical field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of eight years’ related experience in increasingly complex leadership roles supporting operations (manufacturing preferred).
• Proven ability to prioritize, organize and delegate work; intervene to remove obstacles as needed.
• Knowledge of manufacturing process and product flow.
• Demonstrated ability to model, mentor and teach SEL values to others.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Background check results satisfactory to SEL.
• Negative drug test results.

Responsibilities

• Direct, lead, organize and motivate assigned factory to meet strategic and operational objectives.
• Accountable for the safety, quality, on-time delivery, lead-time productivity and budget of assigned factory.
• Identify and justify staffing and capital requirements to meet objectives.
• Contribute in setting the strategic direction for assigned factory.
• Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
• Understand. Create. Simplify.
• Other duties as assigned.
