Job summary

Mental Health Resource Center (MHRC) is a not-for-profit Florida organization delivering a broad range of behavioral health services, including 24-hour emergency and outpatient care.

The FACT program supports adults with severe mental illness through a multidisciplinary team, offering advocacy, treatment planning, case management, and community referrals across Florida, including Winter Haven and Jacksonville.

Qualifications

• Personal lived experience as a recipient of mental health services required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must obtain Peer Specialist Certification within one year of employment.
• Proficiency in RBHS/MHRC EHR and Patient Information System within three months of employment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook and Internet.
• Must meet Florida driver’s license and driving record requirements.
• Ability to work in homes, offices, hospitals, nursing homes, and secure units.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with individuals, families, providers, and team members.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals served in developing personal recovery and wellness plans.
• Provide peer coaching, recovery support, and wellness services in alignment with the FACT model.
• Participate in daily team and organizational meetings.
• Advocate for individuals served to help secure necessary services and supports.
• Collaborate with individuals served to identify and access community resources.
• Provide side-by-side support with daily living activities.
• Support individuals in developing social, interpersonal, and independent living skills.
• Assist individuals served in developing problem-solving and coping skills for recovery.
• Promote self-efficacy and recovery through peer support.
• Complete required documentation accurately and within timelines while maintaining confidentiality.
• Reduce time spent on documentation to focus on client interaction.
• Transform brief notes into complete, clinically appropriate documentation.
• Provide insights from sessions to support care planning and continuity.
• Accessible on desktop or mobile for flexibility across settings.
