Job summary

EDU-AIDs is seeking a qualified Family & Consumer Sciences (FACS) Substitute Teacher to support students in Fairfield, CT for a temporary assignment of approximately 1-2 months. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching FACS, with a strong background in Fashion or Cooking/Culinary Arts.

The substitute will deliver engaging FACS lessons, adapt to the curriculum, and maintain a positive classroom environment while following district policies and lesson plans.

Qualifications

• FACS certification required.
• Experience teaching Fashion or Cooking/Culinary Arts within FACS.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to an existing classroom.
• Prior K-12 substitute teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging FACS lessons aligned with curriculum and plans.
• Provide instruction in Fashion or Cooking/Culinary Arts based on expertise.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Manage classroom activities, student behavior, and daily routines.
• Provide hands-on learning experiences and demonstrations where applicable.
• Follow school policies and lesson plans; monitor student progress.
