Job summary

Clean Harbors in San Jose, CA is seeking a hands-on Facility Technician I to safely consolidate liquid waste and perform drum-to-tank operations on swing shift. This role offers growth opportunities and benefits after 30 days of full-time employment.

You will operate pumps, manage waste streams, collect samples, and maintain a clean work area while following all safety procedures. Training and on-site forklift certification are provided.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • 1+ Years of related experience.
  • Fork lift experience preferred (Not Required).
  • Ability to use computer.
  • Ability to lift 50 or more pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Pump liquids from drums into designated tanks using a 2-inch air-operated diaphragm pump.
  • Consolidate liquids for shipment through the rail spur.
  • Pull tracking labels and scan them to the appropriate receiving tanks.
  • Collect samples from drums.
  • Consolidate sludge safely and efficiently.
  • Load empty drums into designated trailers.
  • Operate a forklift; certification will be provided on-site.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Follow all safety procedures and facility requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Clean Harbors in San Jose, CA is currently looking for a Facility Technician to join their team! As aFacility Technician Iyou will perform hands on operations. This is a great opportunity for college students or recent high school grads wantingto gain some work experience.

Pay and Schedule

  • Shift: Swing Shift, Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
  • Starting Pay: $23.00 per hour
  • Swing-Shift Differential: Additional $1.75 per hour
  • Total Swing-Shift Pay: $24.75 per hour
  • Overtime may be required during the week and on weekends as needed

Responsibilities

Position Overview

This is a hands-on drum-pumping position responsible for safely consolidating liquid waste for shipment through the facility’s rail spur.
