Qualifications

  • Five to ten years of related maintenance experience preferred.
  • At least three years of related experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled maintenance, troubleshooting, and advanced repairs on forklifts, conveyors, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Complete emergency and scheduled repairs, preventive maintenance, and daily facility inspections to identify equipment or building systems requiring service.
  • Perform electrical maintenance and repairs on equipment and facility systems rated at 480 volts and below. High-voltage work is not required.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance, inspections, and repairs according to company standards and OSHA requirements.
  • Communicate daily with the DC Facility Manager regarding repairs, vendor visits, inspection findings, equipment concerns, and completed work.
  • Travel between distribution center locations as needed.

Job description

The Facility Technician - DC is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all equipment which may include a variation of forklifts, conveyors and other warehouse power equipment to ensure availability and safe operation.

Position Details

Employment Status: Full-Time
Work Location: Onsite at the Distribution Center
Schedule: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Schedule may be adjusted based on operational needs.

Essential Functions
  • Perform skilled maintenance, troubleshooting, and advanced repairs on forklifts, conveyors, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Complete emergency and scheduled repairs, preventive maintenance, and daily facility inspections to identify equipment or building systems requiring service.
  • Perform electrical maintenance and repairs on equipment and facility systems rated at 480 volts and below. High-voltage electrical work is not required.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance, inspections, and repairs according to company standards and OSHA requirements.
  • Communicate daily with the DC Facility Manager regarding repairs, vendor visits, inspection findings, equipment concerns, and completed work.
  • Respond promptly to service calls from the distribution center management team.
  • Maintain clean work areas and follow all safety procedures, rules, and required PPE standards.
  • Perform plumbing maintenance and carpentry repairs as needed.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, technical documents, schematics, and work orders to complete required maintenance and repairs.
Education and Experience
  • One-year certificate from a college or technical school required.
  • Degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance strongly preferred.
  • Five to ten years of related maintenance experience preferred.
  • At least three years of related experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment.
Licenses, Certifications, and Training
  • Certified electrician license is not required.
  • Training or certification to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair applicable forklift equipment is required.
  • Current forklift operator certification is required or must be obtained within the timeframe established by the company.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial systems.
  • Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair forklifts, conveyors, warehouse equipment, plumbing systems, and facility components.
  • Ability to safely perform electrical maintenance and repairs on systems rated at 480 volts and below.
  • Ability to complete basic carpentry and facility repairs.
  • Ability to read equipment manuals, electrical and mechanical schematics, and work orders.
  • Ability to accurately document maintenance work and communicate repair status, safety concerns, and vendor activity to management.
  • PLC and HVAC experience preferred.
Travel Requirements
  • Ability to travel between distribution center locations and by car, rail, or air as required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical tools to repair machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to balance, bend, kneel, squat, reach, and move throughout the distribution center.
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a distribution center that is not temperature controlled, including hot summer and cold winter conditions.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and follow all company safety procedures.
