Job summary

Regard Healthcare seeks a Facility Technician to maintain safety, cleanliness, and functionality of our facilities. You will perform routine maintenance, repairs, and groundskeeping to ensure a welcoming environment for clients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities include responding to maintenance requests, coordinating with vendors, and helping with safety inspections, event setups, and seasonal duties. You will operate tools, follow health and safety standards, and work both independently

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of maintenance or facilities experience preferred.
  • First Aid and CPR certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • HVAC certification preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work on-call, evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Communicate facility needs with management and other departments.

Job description

The Facility Technician is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and overall appearance of the facility through preventative maintenance, repairs, groundskeeping, and general upkeep of buildings and equipment. This position supports daily operations by responding to maintenance needs, coordinating with vendors when necessary, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The Facility Technician plays a key role in providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for clients, staff, and visitors while supporting the organization's mission and operational excellence.

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facility buildings, grounds, and equipment, including basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, and painting tasks.
  • Complete preventative maintenance activities to ensure a safe and functional environment for clients, staff, and visitors.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner and document completed work.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for repairs and maintenance projects beyond the scope of internal services.
  • Perform general groundskeeping duties, including mowing, trimming, mulching, weeding, and landscaping maintenance.
  • Operate and maintain maintenance equipment, including mowers, trimmers, hedgers, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Assist with seasonal duties such as snow and ice removal, as applicable.
  • Maintain facility safety standards and assist with inspections related to fire safety, environmental safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support facility setup and breakdown for meetings, events, and special activities.
  • Assist with pool maintenance, horse barn upkeep, or other site-specific responsibilities, as applicable to location.
  • Communicate effectively with management and other departments regarding facility needs and repairs.
  • Complete required training programs and maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and professional environment that supports client care and recovery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements/Certifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of maintenance, facilities, construction, or related experience preferred.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • HVAC certification preferred.
  • Additional trade licenses or certifications are preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret written instructions and maintenance documentation.
  • Flexibility to work on-call, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical and Mental Demands
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and machinery.
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, vendors, and contractors.
Environmental Conditions
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and other environmental elements.
  • Exposure to maintenance-related hazards, including tools, machinery, chemicals, and cleaning products, while following safety procedures.
