The Facility Technician is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and overall appearance of the facility through preventative maintenance, repairs, groundskeeping, and general upkeep of buildings and equipment. This position supports daily operations by responding to maintenance needs, coordinating with vendors when necessary, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The Facility Technician plays a key role in providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for clients, staff, and visitors while supporting the organization's mission and operational excellence.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facility buildings, grounds, and equipment, including basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, and painting tasks.
- Complete preventative maintenance activities to ensure a safe and functional environment for clients, staff, and visitors.
- Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner and document completed work.
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for repairs and maintenance projects beyond the scope of internal services.
- Perform general groundskeeping duties, including mowing, trimming, mulching, weeding, and landscaping maintenance.
- Operate and maintain maintenance equipment, including mowers, trimmers, hedgers, hand tools, and power tools.
- Assist with seasonal duties such as snow and ice removal, as applicable.
- Maintain facility safety standards and assist with inspections related to fire safety, environmental safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Support facility setup and breakdown for meetings, events, and special activities.
- Assist with pool maintenance, horse barn upkeep, or other site-specific responsibilities, as applicable to location.
- Communicate effectively with management and other departments regarding facility needs and repairs.
- Complete required training programs and maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Promote a safe, clean, and professional environment that supports client care and recovery.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements/Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- One (1) to three (3) years of maintenance, facilities, construction, or related experience preferred.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
- HVAC certification preferred.
- Additional trade licenses or certifications are preferred.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a team.
- Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret written instructions and maintenance documentation.
- Flexibility to work on-call, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
