Cherokee Federal is seeking a Facility Planner to support the 23 CES Engineering Flight at Moody AFB, Georgia. The role requires a U.S.

citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and CAC access, and will support planning for F-35 facilities and other installation needs. The Planner will develop master plans, programming documents, space analyses, and execution strategies, collaborating with end users, project managers, and contractors to deliver compliant facility

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field is required.
  • At least three years of planning experience applying space-optimization standards to facility construction projects.
  • Professional knowledge of facility-planning concepts, principles, theories, regulations, methods, and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, and develop solutions for complex facility-planning problems.
  • Experience reviewing drawings and planning documents for functional adequacy and compliance.

Job description

Facility Planner

Must be a United States citizen with a clear background for government security investigation with the ability to obtain a Clearance or Common Access Card (CAC) and an existing Secret Clearance of ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.


Cherokee Federal is seeking a Facility Planner to support the 23rd Civil Engineer Squadron (23 CES) Engineering Flight at Moody AFB (MAFB) , Georgia. The Facility Planner will provide planning, programming, technical analysis, and coordination support for facility and infrastructure projects supporting the F-35 program and other installation mission requirements.


The position supports planning and construction efforts for new facilities, renovations, sustainment, restoration, modernization, and infrastructure improvements. The Facility Planner will work directly with Air Force personnel, end users, project managers, contractors, and mission partners to develop complete, compliant, and executable facility planning solutions.


Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Facility Planner: $105,000 to $115,000


Pay commensurate with experience.


Full-time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided.Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.


Facility Planner Responsibilities Include:

Meet with end users, requirement owners, and stakeholders to define facility requirements, project characteristics, mission needs, constraints, and planning assumptions. Conduct site visits, space analyses, and facility assessments to gather data and inform the siting of new facilities.


Develop and prepare essential project and planning documents to include master plans, asset management documentation, statement of work, statement of objectives, programming documents (DD Form 1391, Comprehensive Planning Platform submissions, certificates of compliance, etc.), execution strategies, schedules, and cost estimates. Create plans, drawings, reports, and project specifications. Assist with drafting as needed.


Perform technical reviews of project design drawings, specifications, studies, and other planning documents for functional adequacy. Provide technical advice, interpretation, and options to project managers and other stakeholders on project and space planning needs.


Assist Government personnel in the oversight of work activities and space planning. Support the development, execution, and mitigation of quality control and health and safety measures.


Review final data and deliverables for technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with all pertinent Major Command and statutory requirements. Provide written recommendations to government representatives regarding the acceptance or rejection of submitted documents.


Serve as a direct interface with 23 CES and MAFB points of contact, providing regular status updates and promptly notifying personnel of any issues requiring Government attention. Attend, participate in, and provide input at project coordination meetings with the Air Force personnel, contractors, and other involved parties.


Facility Planner Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field is required.


At least three years of planning experience applying space-optimization standards to facility construction projects and using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) tools.


Professional knowledge of facility-planning concepts, principles, theories, regulations, methods, and practices.


Demonstrated ability to gather, assemble, evaluate, and analyze facts and data to develop solutions for complex facility-planning problems.


Experience conducting facility assessments, site analyses, space analyses, and requirements-gathering activities.


Ability to prepare clear, accurate, professional planning documents, correspondence, reports, schedules, estimates, and recommendations within established deadlines.


Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, studies, and planning documents for functional adequacy and compliance.


Strong written, verbal, analytical, coordination, and interpersonal communication skills.


Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC), installation access, and any required restricted-area or flightline access credentials.


Valid state driver's license. Ability to obtain a flightline driver's license if required.


Ability to complete required Government computer-based training within 45 days of start and Antiterrorism Level I training within 30 days of installation access, with annual refresher training thereafter.


Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 background investigation or equivalent enrollment in the Continuous Evaluation program and maintain Secret eligibility.
