Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. is hiring a Facility Security Officer (FSO) to oversee the security program for the Birmingham location.

The role focuses on safeguarding classified information, facilities, and personnel, interfacing with government security officials and program management. The FSO will ensure compliance with 32 CFR 117 and related directives, lead security training, and manage risk assessments while coordinating with program managers, IT, engineering, and legal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5–10 years' experience, or equivalent
• Current Top Secret clearance required
• Experience as FSO/AFSO or equivalent for 2+ years
• Knowledge of NISPOM and DoD security guidance
• Familiarity with security systems and incident reporting

Responsibilities

• Develop and Manage Security Programs aligned with goals and best practices
• Conduct Risk Assessments and vulnerability testing
• Collaborate with Program Managers, IT, engineering, legal to integrate security requirements
• Maintain and update security policies, standards, and procedures
• Oversee security awareness training programs for employees
• Monitor and ensure security policy compliance across the organization
• Provide guidance to employees and subcontractors on security processes
• Develop OPSEC training to protect critical information
• Investigate security incidents and prepare internal/external reports
• Maintain relationships with contract security offices for clearances
