Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Corrections seeks a Facility Safety Manager at SCI Dallas to lead fire safety programs, sanitation oversight, inspections, and emergency response planning to safeguard staff, inmates and facility operations.

Qualifications

• One year of professional experience in an organized accident prevention, fire prevention, environmental safety, or security program, and a bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• You must obtain Advanced Safety Certification from the National Safety Council within five years.
• You must obtain and maintain a Radiological Safety Officer Certification upon hire.
• You must obtain and maintain a Lead Renovator Certification upon hire.
• You must obtain and maintain an Asbestos Supervisor and Building Inspector Certification upon hire.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• You must be a trained firefighter.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
• You must pass a background investigation and meet CJIS compliance requirements.

The Position

Description of Work

This position ensures the safety, health, and environmental standards of SCI Dallas through inspections, training, documentation, and emergency preparedness. It combines planning, coordination, and hands-on oversight to maintain compliance and safeguard the facility. As a Facility Safety Manager, you will perform the following duties:

Work Schedule and Additional Information

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $60,538.00 (before taxes).
