Job Summary
Responsible for managing the full lifecycle of facilities and departmental projects from planning through completion. This includes oversight of external vendors and coordination with internal teams to ensure efficient execution and alignment with business goals. Projects include new construction, renovations, and major maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage resources, schedules, and budgets for various facility projects to meet construction specifications and deadlines.
- Define and communicate expectations, deliverables, and stakeholder needs.
- Lead or assist project teams in developing scopes, work plans, schedules, budgets, and communication strategies.
- Track project progress and ensure all documentation and milestones are achieved.
- Partner with engineers, architects, and internal stakeholders throughout project design and implementation phases.
- Prepare justifications and support for annual capital and maintenance project funding.
- Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and resolve issues that impact timelines or deliverables.
- Coordinate permit acquisition, compliance inspections, and quality assurance activities.
- Support contract development, procurement, and budget oversight, in collaboration with Procurement when necessary.
- Review technical drawings, architectural plans, and vendor proposals to ensure accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Supervise on-site contractor activities and ensure project compliance with safety and legal standards.
- Provide consistent updates and reports to leadership regarding status and performance metrics.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong background in project planning, management, and execution in commercial construction or facilities management.
- Experience managing contractors, engineers, and vendors in a construction or renovation environment.
- Familiarity with ADA, building codes, architectural drawings, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficient in contract administration, scheduling, cost control, and vendor relationship management.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and lead cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Facility Management Professional (FMP) certification.
- Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA) or Facility Management Administrator (FMA) certification.
- Degree or formal training in business, construction, architecture, engineering, or facilities management.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
