Job summary

Gulf Corp Services is seeking a full-time pool maintenance technician in a resort environment. The role involves cleaning, maintaining, and diagnosing pool and hot tub systems, handling chemicals, and performing basic plumbing and repair tasks under the Facility Manager's supervision.

Candidates should be able to lift 50 lbs, stand for 8 hours, and walk stairs as needed. A High School Diploma or GED is required, with no college degree necessary, and English proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

  • Replaces worn parts and inspects machinery.
  • Knowledge of pool chemicals and handling under supervision.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Open to applicants without a college diploma.
  • Experience with pool vacuums and cleaning equipment.
  • Walk up to 15 flights of stairs if elevator unavailable.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and treat pools and hot tubs as directed by the Facility Manager.
  • Clean, repair, and replace pool equipment and plumbing as needed.
  • Enter and manage work orders in the computer system.
  • Inspect machinery and diagnose malfunctions.
  • Replace worn or defective parts and perform basic repairs.
  • Ensure safe handling of pool chemicals with respirator as required.
  • Attend departmental meetings and cooperate with staff.
  • Represent Gulf Corp Services in interactions with guests and team members.

Job Details
  • Must possess the ability to communicate in English, verbally and written.
  • Must possess the ability to use measuring devices by weight.
  • Work in a wet environment, accessing the pool to perform cleaning tasks.
  • Performs physical activities that require moving one's whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, where the activities often also require considerable use of the arms and legs, such as in the physical handling of materials.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. minimum and stand up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Able to walk up or down 15 flights of stairs in the event an elevator is not available.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required. In addition, training in vocational schools or related on-the-job experience is satisfactory.
  • Basic knowledge of pools is a plus, but not required.
  • This position requires a respirator while handling pool chemicals, a medical screening is required annually.
  • The position is required to handle various pool chemicals under the direct supervision of the Facility Manager.
  • Basic plumbing knowledge.
  • Ability to use pool equipment such as pool vacuums and cleaning equipment.
  • Serves as a representative of Gulf Corp Services, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other employees of Gulf Corp Services, owners, guests, and other members of the community.
  • Able to enter work orders, determine assignments and complete work orders into a computer using provided software.
  • Replaces worn and defective parts, such as switches, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, circuit boards, or defective wiring.
  • Repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing defective washers, replacing or mending broken pipes, and opening clogged drains.
  • Inspects and tests machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Clean, maintain and treat pools and hot tubs as directed by the Facility Manager.
  • Attends departmental meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
