The role involves evaluating contractor performance, coordinating facility activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards across DOE facilities in the Washington area.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect facilities, building systems, and contractor work to identify deficiencies, verify compliance, and initiate corrective action.
  • Plan and coordinate facility operations, maintenance, repairs, alterations, construction, and other building services to meet operational requirements with minimal disruption.
  • Develop facility contract requirements and provide technical oversight of contractor performance, deliverables, schedules, and work progress.
  • Analyze facility operations and building requirements, resolve operational problems, develop cost estimates, and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Respond to facility emergencies and coordinate with management, contractors, customers, and other organizations to maintain safe and continuous building operations.
  • Acquire property, supplies, and facility services using authorized procurement methods and maintain required purchasing, funding, invoice, and procurement documentation.

Summary

This position is part of the Office of Management, Department of Energy. As a Facility Operations Specialist, you will perform Quality Assurance Inspections of some aspects of a large multi-million dollar per annum facilities management contract that includes operation and maintenance of building systems.
