CHAR POWER is seeking a reliable Facility Operations Manager to oversee daily operations at our Des Moines site, bridging production operations with logistics to keep deliveries and customer interactions running smoothly.

The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing background, be comfortable working part-time around 20 hours per week, and be able to collaborate closely with the Director of Operations and engineering teams to maintain safety, order, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Vendor & Customer Relations: Serve as the professional face of the facility. Coordinate with vendors and supply partners regarding scheduled deliveries and interface with customers to maintain relationships.
• Logistics & Delivery Oversight: Manage the intake and dispatch process; track all deliveries and handle them safely.
• Facility Safety & Organization: Maintain high safety, cleanliness, and organization standards; ensure operations align with company protocols.
• Operations Coordination: Support daily production workflows with the Director of Operations and Engineering; monitor KPIs and address site needs.
• Communication: Act as local liaison for facility inquiries with internal leadership and external stakeholders.

We are looking for an individual with a strong background in manufacturing who can bridge the gap between production operations and our external logistical needs. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact for vendor deliveries and customer interactions, ensuring our facility runs safely, efficiently, and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Vendor & Customer Relations: Serve as the professional face of the facility. Coordinate with vendors and supply partners regarding scheduled deliveries (e.g., feedstock management) and interface with customers to maintain positive, ongoing relationships.
• Logistics & Delivery Oversight: Manage the intake and dispatch process. Ensure all incoming feedstock and outgoing material deliveries are tracked accurately and handled safely.
• Facility Safety & Organization: Maintain the facility’s high standard of safety, cleanliness, and organization. Ensure daily operations align with established company protocols for workspace maintenance.
• Operations Coordination: Work closely with the existing Director of Operations and Engineering team to support daily production workflows, monitor facility KPIs, and address site-specific operational needs as they arise.
• Communication: Act as a local liaison for facility-related inquiries, ensuring timely and clear communication with both internal leadership and external stakeholders.
